Cadillac Repair: 93 Cadillac Deville Cruise Control, cadillac deville, control question

QUESTION: My 93 Cadillac Deville has the following cruise control problem.  I can set the cruise control and it will initially control the speed.  However, when it seems that the speed is challenged by an incline, the cruise control disengages and can not be re engaged until I turn the ignition off and then restart the vehicle.  What do you think is causing this problem and can I repair it myself.

ANSWER: IS or HAS the CHECK ENGINE light ever illuminated while driving the vehicle and or has any other lights illuminated or any messages from the message display center ?.

What work or diagnostics of ANYKIND WHAT-SO-EVER have been performed on the vehicle trying to fix this problem ?.

QUESTION: The service engine light has come on intermittenly in the past.  No other lights have illuminated. No diagostics have been performed on this vehicle for the past two or three years but the cruise control problem has only been happening for the last year or so.

ANSWER: If you know how to retrieve the fault CODES from the computers via the climate control panel, Please get them and tell me which ones are History and which ones are Current.

E61 is why your cruise control does not work.

If you are mechanicaly inclined or know of someone who is, You will need simple electrical schematics, Test procedures and picture locations of the components within the system that is causing you problems of which can't be done on this website which only allows one picture.
