QuestionQUESTION: i have a 94 deville 4.9 with 154.000 miles on it and have put 3 trans in it! all of them have stopped working hard shifts in 1st and 2nd grears Od slipps high revs wont go over 55. now after the first trans went i though owell but the 2nd and 3rd acting the same way ??? check engine light is on, any help

ANSWER: 1. Turn ignition switch to the ON position. Do NOT start the engine.
2. Simultaneously push and hold the OFF and WARMER buttons on your climate control panel for 3 seconds and release them.
3. On your fuel data display you will see a combination of LETTERS & NUMBERS appear and with each letter and number combination the word HISTORY or CURRENT will also appear.
4. The isplay will stop at PCM?
5. Turn ignition switch OFF.
I need to know what letter number combinations you get and if it is history or current.

AnswerP031 = shorted MAP sensor.
P039 =- Transmission over drive problem.
P041 = No CAM reference signal to ignition control module.
P052 = Battery was disconnected sometime in the past.
I030 = no such code.
I052 = Instrument panel memory reset indicator.
You will need simple electrical schematics, Test procedures and picture locations of the components within the system that is causing you problems of which can't be done on this website which only allows one picture.
