Power steering hose le
I have been noticing oily-like spots on garage floor - reddish color, light viscosity.  Car began to make whinny sound, especially when turning, and steering was difficult.  Power steering fluid was low. Problem went away when added fluid. But the leak is pretty bad - noted an oil puddle on the driveway spread about 4" in diameter when car idled over that spot for just a few minutes.  Noted what appears to be a leak in the lower part of a hose from the fluid reservoir. This starts as a metal tube from the reservoir, then into a hose with maybe crimps on both ends.  I can't tell where it goes but it appears the leak is at the lower crimped part of the hose.  Is there a way to fix this, or does the hose unit have to be replaced.  If so, what is the replacement unit called?  Can a common car-owner fix/replace this, or does it require special tools or trouble that it would be worth taking it to a real mechanic?  Thanks.

Answer
You did not give me much of a picture to work with, But I found it.

This IS the POWER STEERING PRESSURE HOSE that screws into the top of the power steering pump and goes down along the left side of the engine to the POWER STEERING rack where your steering column attaches to at the bottom of the firewall.

You can change this yourself but it IS time consuming.

You will need picture locations of the components within the system that is causing you problems of which can't be done on this website which only allows one picture. I do not have a website so you will have to e-mail: onlineautohelp@msn.com in order to obtain the information.
