QuestionOn occassion our 92 deville will not start. Has power to everything but does nothing when you turn the key. You can try in N or D but nothing. Try to start for about 5-10 minutes. Then walk away for about 10-15 minutes, come back and it starts up. The last 2 times it has done this the weather has been rainy, once while driving on wet surface, turned off and sat for about an hour and it wouldn't start. Tried for 10 minutes, called for towing and a pickup ride which took about 10 minutes, went back tried it again and it started. Happened again when the car sat in the rain all night, got in, started it and nothing again. Tried starting for 10 minutes, nothing. Waited about 10 minutes and it started right up. Is there something with moisture in the starter possibly, doesn't seem to be a problem with dry weather, at least yet. Thanks. I have a 92 cadillac deville the problem is that when the car was shut off and tried to start it again it would not start (motor will not crank).. I have tried charging the battery, trying a new battery, cleaning cables, checking and replacing the spacer between the two positive cables, tried the spare key and cleaning the passkey. The car is getting power (lights and everything work) got under the car and jumped the starter (it works). tried to have key turned on and jump starter manualy just to see if the car might start, (it will crank but not start). I have run passcodes and all i can find is E52 which is a power loss (probly from removing and connecting batery cables), after trying to turn the engine over with the passkey and the engine wont crank over then the security light comes on, I wait a few minutes and try the other key without the pass on it the light may go off but after a few times it will in turn come back on. But still the motor will not crank over with any key.

E52 = Removing and connecting batery cables.
Try starting it in neutral.

while holding the ignition in the START position see if you have battery voltage to the single , I believe PURPLE wire on the starter solenoid marked with an "S" ?.

AnswerOK, Then you either have a fault with the PASS-KEY system and or a faulty starter relay. You will need, If necessary, Electrical schematics, Test procedures and picture locations of the components within the system that is causing you problems of which can't be done on this website which only allows one picture.
