Cadillac Repair: 87 deville, cat converter, fuel pump

hi, my 87 deville will crank but cuts off a min or two later can you lead me in the right direction. checked cat. converter, did tune up,

IS or HAS the CHECK ENGINE light ever illuminated on the dash while driving the vehicle ?.

If NO check Engine light has ever appeared, The most likely suspect is either a fuel pump problem and or an ignition modulr problem.
