Cadillac Repair: powersteering, flow valve, cadillac deville

Question
i have a 1986 cadillac deville 4.1 liter my powersteering was very hard to turn at an idle. i replaced the p/s pump and the rack and pinion. now powersteering doesn't work at all. any suggestions?

Answer
Either the pump or the rack is faulty.

You can check the flow valve which is located in the pump where you attached the metal line to the pump. Remove your metal line and remove the large 1" black plug that your metal line attached to and take out the flow valve and try using your flow valve.
