Cadillac Repair: 90 Seville no start, starter relay, intermittent problem

Question
QUESTION: I have a 90 Seville that has an intermittent problem.  It will not crank when the key is turned. Everything else appears normal. After setting for a couple of hours, it starts normally and runs fine.  Temperature doesn't seem to affect it, and you don't know when it is coming.  The prompt line says nothing about the theft system, and I hear no clicks or anything. I have codes E 048, E049, B120 current, and E052, R061 History.  I cannot clear codes by using the off & hi buttons, as I have read in your past postings.  Where do I look for the answer to this problem, and how do I clear the codes?

ANSWER: OFF and HI is NOT the proper sequence to clear the codes on a 90 seville. You will need, If necessary, Electrical schematics, Test procedures and picture locations of the components within the system that is causing you problems of which can't be done on this website which only allows one picture.  I do not have a website so you will have to e-mail: onlineautohelp@msn.com in order to obtain the information.

QUESTION: Any ideas as to why it will not start? I have eliminated the neutral start switch, the starter itself, and had a diode installed in place of the key diode by a professional.

Answer
Most likely the PASS-KEY module and or the starter relay are inoperative.
