Cadillac Repair: 1992 eldorado, vacuum line, vacuum hose

my parking brake will not release automatacily it will on relese with the manuall realease,where do i start???

Answer
Under the dash there is a vacuum switch mounted on the steering column that has 2 vacuum hoses attached to it. One vacuum hose has vacuum in it at all times when the engine is running. The other vacuum line will have vacuum in it when you shift the gear shift lever out of park and the vacuum travels from this switch to a small vacuum diaphram with a small vacuum hose attached to the emergency brake.
