Questionon 1991 Cad. Sedan Deville cooling fans not operating. Have replaced fuses and checked wiring and computers and sensor, all ok. please help. all codes check out ok. Replaced both fans.
AnswerOK, Let's try the test procedure to override the coolant fan system.
1. Turn ignition switch ON. Do NOT start engine.
2. Simultaneously push and hold the OFF and WARMER buttons on the climate control panel for 3 seconds and release them.
3. On the fuel data display, IF you have any CODES you will see LETTERS & NUMBERS appearing along with the word HISTORY or CURRENT with each code that displays.
4. The display will stop at .7.0
5. Push and release the HI button and you will see E.9.5
6. Simultaneously push and release the ECON and WARMER buttons until you see E.5.0 and release them.
7. Press and release the HI button until you see E.5.9 and release the HI button. If you go past the E.5.8 just puuse the LO button to go back to E.5.8
8. With the E.5.8 displayed, push the COOLER button and 00 will be displayed.
9. while holding IN the WARMER button the fans will begin to speed up and the display will start to increase in numbers from 10 to 11 at which time the fans will be running at high speed.
10. If you hold IN the COOLER button the fans and numbers on the display will begin to decrease.
11. Push and release AUTO and turn OFF ignition key.
