Cadillac Repair: No codes, cadillac deville, pep

On my 1992 Cadillac DeVille. While driving yesterday, stopped at a red light and when I started again my car had no pep, it took a while to get going, I then noticed my A/C was not working. Got home checked to see if A/C clutch was engaging was not. I then checked for codes but I have no codes. I have always had codes. Replaced A/C compressor 2 years ago. I have a factory manual for this year of Cadillac.

Remove one of the wires to any sensor and turn ON the ignition switch and wait several minutes and then see if you can get a code from the computer that relates to the sensor you disconnected.

What we are trying to do is see if the computer has the ability to detect a code.
