Questioni have no power on acceleration,car goes 44 to 55 floored,i had the cat checked out ,new cap and rotor and sparkplugs,new fuel filter, fuel is at 40psi,starts up and runs smooth. can this engine run smooth on 5 cylinders? how can i test the wires? could that be the problem?
AnswerNo it will NOT run smooth on 5 cylinders.
The easiest way to test the wires, is to either fill a windex spray bottle full of very soapy water and liquid hand dishwashing liquid and at night start the engine , Let it warm up and spray the wires and see if you get any arching from the wires. Spray the wholw length of the wires.
OR you can remove one wire at a time while the engine is running and the engine should run rough when you disconnect and reconnect each spark plug wire.
IS or HAS the CHECK ENGINE light ever illuminated while driving the vehicle ?.
