Cadillac Repair: 2002 Cad. Deville, air cond, test procedures

QUESTION: What is wrong and how do I fix this problem: when I start my car or turn fan or air cond. on I get a clicking sound . It stops clicking in about 15 to 45 seconds but the unite works as soon as I start car.

ANSWER: Try and narrow down WHERE this noise is coming from. Without personally hearing it, It can be any number of things.

QUESTION: It sounds like it is coming from the middle part of the dash.
When the car starts the air sometimes comes out on the floor instead of the vents on the dash.

Sounds like a stripped gear in the A/C-heater programmer.
