Cadillac Repair: my cadillac seville wont start, seville sts, cadillac seville

i have a cadillac 1997 seville sts. for the past few days when i start my car it would make a little screeching noise then start.yesterday I was getting gas, as i went to start my car it sounded like it was dead. So i popped the hood and messed with the cables. i went to start it again and it started but it took a few minutes for it to roll all the way over. i drove it the rest of the day with no problem. next morning it would not start, i charged it for an hour and then tried to start it agian, wouldn't start so i let it charge all day. then i went out to see if it would start, it still sounded like it was dead but it was also making a loud screeching noise this time. how do i fix this problem?

whn you say won't start. Do you mean when you try and start it by turning the key you hear NOTHING from the engine compartment or can you hear the engine cranking over but it will just not start ?.


See if you can determine WHERE the noise is coming from.
