Cadillac Repair: 91 Cad Seville 4.9 B, fsm states, diagnostic connector

Question
FSM states that to use reg gas to set timing at 06 degrees btdc, normal setting is 10 btdc. ECM ED08 reads 21 degrees. When it was set at 10degrees ECM read 10 degrees  engine sounds & run fine 90,000 miles. Is the readout on DIC normal or is there a way to reset the readout to correspond with the reset timing

Answer
1. Remove the ALDL diagnostic connector cover under the dash FIRST.

2. Start engine.

2. Jumper terminals A  which is a BLACK wire to Terminal B which is a PINK WITH A BLACK STRIPE wire, The climate control center will display SET TIMING.

3. Adjust the timing to 06 degrees.

4. Reinstall ALDL cover.
