Answer
Hi Margaret,

Sorry it took so long to get back to you.

The problem with diagnosing this problem is the cold factor. It needs to be the correct temperature to start and also not start. Also there are several systems that have to work together to allow the starter to operate. I wish there was a magic part I could send you but unfortunately my best advice would be to drive the car when it starts or have it towed back to your mechanic and let them have it for a day or 3 to find out what isn't happening when the starter doesn't work.

Since the engine computor is under the hood it might be acting up cold because of a loose soldier joint.

The starter or solinoid might be acting up.

The ignition switch or PASSKEY anti-theft system might be acting up. Usually with the cars that have the key in the dash the fix is to replace the ignition lock cylinder, housing and the ignition switch because anyone of them can be intermittantly causeing the starter not to work.

Sometimes useing a scan tool to check for codes in several to the computors might find the problem. Otherwise what I would do is leave the car parked outside overnight and when it doesn't start in the morning go with a scanner and test equipment and see where the problem is. After all it is easier to fix when its broke. Sorry I can't be anymore help than that. Bill
