Cadillac Repair: Fuel door fuel gauge trunk release, check fuse, fuse box

QUESTION: I have a 95 deville 4.9 It takes spells when the fuel gauge fuel door and trunk release all lose power.Then the next day or a few miles later all work again.Sometimes when all come back on the chime comes on like when you leave the keys in the car,,,,Thanks

ANSWER: Sounds like a CLASSIC fault of the RIM MODULE. It usually also effects the door locks and valet switch and a few other items.

QUESTION: Thanks for the answer but could you tell me where it is and is it fairly easy to change.This is a work car i dont want to go to the dealer if i dont have to....thanks

Intermittents are very difficult to find. Check fuse A11 in the trunk fuse box and A3 in the engine compartment fuse box for corrosion or an internal faulty connection in the fuses.

IS ior HAS the check engine light illuminated on the dash since these faults started to appear ?.
