Cadillac Repair: 86 Deville not starting`, engine cranks, warm temps

QUESTION: I have 86 Deville that will not start below about 40 degrees ambient temp.  Engine cranks good, sometimes it will fire a couple of cylinders but not run.  When it does start at warm temps it runs just great.

ANSWER: IS or HAS the CHECK ENGINE light on the dash ever ILLUMINATED prior to this problem or is it doing it NOW ?.

QUESTION: yes, Check engine light does come on after driving approx.
10 miles.

ANSWER: OK, Yiou need to retrieve the codes from the computer in this method:

1. Ignition switch ON. Engine NOT running.

2. Simultaneously push and hold the OFF and WARMER (^) buttons on your climate control panel for 3 seconds and release them.

3. On the fuel data display you will see LETTERS & NUMBERS appaering and then the display will stop at .7.0

4. Write down everything you see as if you were video taping it and tell me what displays.

5. Turn OFF ignition switch.

QUESTION: Fuel Data window displays:  88.8,  E48,  E52,  8.8.8, 7.0

OK, Lets see if we can CLEAR (erase) the E48 and E52 codes.

1. Go back into diagnostics OFF & WARMER and when you see .7.0

2. Simultaneously push and hold the OFF and HI (^) buttons on the climate control panel until you see E.0.0 and release the buttons.

3. drive the car and see if the codes come back. The 88.8 and .70 are NOT codes thay are the beginning and ending of the diagnostics.
