I hope you can help me out with this.my car is 2003 cadillac cts

ANSWER: Adel,
When it dies, and won't restart, does it crank or is it totally dead? If it cranks but won't start, you'll need to determine whether the problem is fuel or spark related. That will narrow things down significantly. If it won't even crank, it sound like a major electrical issue. Maybe a bad battery cable, or a bad connection.

QUESTION: Yes it cranks, and after 5-10 after the engine cold down it starts smoothly, I took it to the auto-shop for a test they said it might be the fuel pump or just the fuel pump relay fuse, But they couldn't locate the fuel pump relay fuse I even looked in the manual But it isn't shown anywhere, so if its possible i hope you could tell me where its located so i can change it and i`ll change the spark plugs as well if that didn't work i`ll change the fuel pump. i think thats the last solution don't you think so?

Answer
Adel,
The fuse is in the rear fuse panel. Take a look at your owner's manual and it will show you the exact location.
As far as the problem of not restarting, I'd hesitate to jump on any particular component failure without further diagnosis. First thing I'd do is verify it's even a fuel issue by spraying some carb cleaner or starting fluid into the intake while cranking the engine. If it starts on the flammable solvent, then I'd say it's some sort of fuel issue. At that point, you need to verify why you're not getting fuel. Could be something simple. Much less costly to fix than a fuel pump.
