Cadillac Repair: 91Cadillac Deville Problem, fuel tank gauge, fuse block

Question
QUESTION: I recently had work done on my radio. In doing so a wire crossed somewhere and something blew. All the fuses are good. The wiring to the radio has since been fixed and connected properly.Everything is good except for a few things.  The digital gas reader doesn't show and the heater isn't working.Basically everything across from the digital air/heat panel to the gas information panel is out. What can that be? I checked under the hood but I don't have a fuse box there. I don't know what to check. So what could be wrong?

ANSWER: Martinique,
Not an easy call. Somebody messing in the dash managed to cause a short circuit of some kind. That short managed to cause the failure of multiple components. You're going to have to identify the individual components that are not working, and check their wiring, and functionality. If you can specify which components are not working, I can get you schematics but you'll have to be able to do the electrical trouble-shooting. If you're up for it, get back to me with a list of components.

QUESTION: The air system isn't working at all. The fuel tank gauge isnt showing and the Windshield Wipers aren't coming up they are like in a repeated loop. I'm willing to do some electrical work if you can show me whats wrong. I thought it might be the fuses under the hood but i checked and i don't have any. Just a bunch of wires going to what looks like a battery post on the back fire wall.

Answer
Martinique,
There's only the one fuse block and the relay panel, both are under the dash. Check ALL the fuses first with a test light (make sure there's power on both sides of the fuse). Then make sure the fuses are getting good connection in the block. Sometimes they can either get corroded or loose. As far as the wipers, you're problem is the park switch is not working or there's something mechanically damaged in the assembly.
