Cadillac Repair: 1965 Cadillac Generator light, generator light, battery cable

The generator light in my 1965 Cadillac Convertible stays on even when the key is off.  It will slowly drain the battery unless I unhook the battery cable. I have replaced the generator and the voltage regulator so far trying to remedy the problem.  So far no help.  Any ideas?

Unfortunately, I have no references that far back. If I had a schematic I could offer you some advice but without one, I'd really have to be hands-on. Sorry. The generator light being on points to a bad connection or possibly a bad diode but like I said, hard to tell being basically blind here.
