Cadillac Repair: Penny in cigarette lighter, cadillac fleetwood, cigarette lighter

My son put a penny in the cigarette lighter of my 1980 Cadillac Fleetwood and my radio hasn't worked since. I removed the penny and changed the fuse for the radio, now the radio AND my headlights don't work. Any suggestions?

Check the LTR & RADIO fuses to be sure you have battery voltage on BOTH sides of the fuses. if you do not, check the fusible links at the starter as one of them is most likely burnt out. tHese links have a rubber coating on them and may look good but test for battery voltage ABOVE the length of the rubber covering where it turns into a plastic covered wire. If blown. Replace it.
