Cadillac Repair: dimmer switch 93 sedan deville, short circuits, tilt wheel

I have a 93 sedan Deville and recently the dimmer switch quit working. I have a tilt steering wheel and if I fool around and move it into different positions the switch will start to work. Is there possibly a setting for the dimmer switch and if so how do I get at it.

It's not uncommon for cars with tilt-wheel to have symptoms similar to what you stated. The cause is usually a fatigued harness in the column that presents intermittent symptoms and sometimes even short circuits. In these cases, the only remedy is to replace the harness.
