Nissan Repair: 94 maxima keypad/start, digit code, passenger seat

Question
Seems dealers do not want to give the original code for the keypad w/o wanting to charge a fortune to replace it.  How can we change the code? Failing that, how could we use the key on the driver door without setting off the alarm and killing the ignition?

Answer
Well, you could purchase an alarm fob. To set it to your car, under the passenger seat is the alarm control module. On top, you can feel a hole about the size of a pencil under a sticker on top. There is a switch you can reach with a pencil in that hole. Turn the key to on, hold the unlock button on the new fob and press the pencil in and hold it down until the locks operate. About 20 seconds. Otherwise, dealers only have the manufactures preset code for the ones they actually sell. So if you can find the originating dealer, they will have the code and I am sure they will look it up for you at no charge. Proof of ownership will be required. Once you have the original code you will be able to reprogram it to any 5 digit code you wish. This code will be in addition to the manufacturers code, which will never change and always be there. Without the code I don't know how to deactivate the alarm. Chrysler's use the passenger door to deactivate their alarms... might give it a try!?!?!?
