QuestionQUESTION: My caddy is skipping. I have had my spark & fuel injection checked. Someone has suggested I might need a new fuel filter, but I am at a loss. Any ideas?
ANSWER: It is NOT the fuel filter. When does the engine have this miss?. At idle, slow speeds or at higher speeds ?. When was the last time you put a set of spark plug wires on the vehicle ?.

QUESTION: I recently had new spark plugs, & wires put on. I also had the distributor rebuilt. It skips all the time, at idle, low speed & high speed. I also had someone do an engine dialysis on it, and it read that the injectors were good.
Any other thoughts as to why the constant skip?

With the engine at idle speed and the skip is apparent, remove a spark plug and see if the miss becomes more severe. If it DOES, Replace the spark plug and go to the next plug wire and so on. Find the spark plug when removed that causes the LEAST amount of skip in the engine and this would be the cylinder with the problem.
One you find the cylinder that causes the least amount of skip try swapping the injector with another injector and see if the skip now moves to the cylinder that you swapped injectors with. It the skip does move to the other cylinder, replace the fuel injector .
