UK Car Repair: Corsa Timing Belt Snapped, timing belt, cylinder head

Question
Hi wondering if you could help, My timing belt snapped in my 1.6 16valve corsa (2000) Corsa B.  How much would i be looking at to get it repaired.  With my luck i am guessing all my valves will be damaged.  Is around £500 a fair price to be looking at for the repairs?  Will my car run better than it would of before since a will have all new parts ? Or will it "never" be the same again ?

Kind Regards

Answer
It is likely that some valves will be damaged, not all. The cylinder head has to be rebuilt so the examination will show what parts have to be replaced, at the same time the water pump, belts and hoses should be changed. Also the emgine oil and filter. It could easily cost 500 pounds and perhaps a little more. Unless you had some kind of running problem the car will run just as it did before the belt broke.  Good luck
