Cadillac Repair: 1999 Seville STS probs, head gasket failure, seville sts

Question
We inherited a 1999 STS and have id'd a couple of probs, took it to the dealer and they did not give a clear answer.  I took it in for a trunk leak and the heater was not working was told that they noticed a coolant drop when running and said that the engine was now screwed, they said it was either a block leak or a head gasket failure. Also they said the Driver side window needed the regulator replaced, it was not acting up but I popped the door trim off and looked and there was a wire that seemed to be misrouted that was operating the raising and lowering cradle.  Now to the questions: If the block was cracked wouldnt I get some engine notification?? Wouldnt they check the engine oil to see if there was contaminate in the fluid? If it is indeed a head gasket failure how hard is it to do on a STS?  I am pretty decent in engine rebuilds 2: they used a emissions analyzer to check for HCs in colling system and found 101ppm they said this could be a head gasket failure.  3.  Heater core clogged - how intense is unclogging it? 4. do you have a routing diagram of driver side window mechanism?    That is all for now dont want to kill you with questions.  Thanks in advance.  Should we give up on it?  It only has 70000, or is it worth fixing and reselling, we are confused.

Answer
If the block was cracked wouldnt I get some engine notification?? NO.

Wouldnt they check the engine oil to see if there was contaminate in the fluid? I doubt it.

If it is indeed a head gasket failure how hard is it to do on a STS?  IT IS NOT EASY.

Heater core clogged - how intense is unclogging it? THE ENGINE COOLANT SUPPLEMENT THAT THEY INSTALL TO HELP SEAL THE HEAD GASKETS PLUGS UP THE HEATER CORE AND CANNOT BE FLUSHED OUT. THE HEATER CORE HAS TO BE REPLACED.

do you have a routing diagram of driver side window mechanism?  YES. You will need to e-mail: onlineautohelp@msn.com for the pictures.

If the body, transmission and interior are still OK, I would replace the head gaskets and the heater core.
