Cadillac Repair: power window driver side, test light, conductors

I have a 2000 cad. el dorado and the driver side window will not go up. When I push the button the window goes down
but not back up.

Unfortunately, I do not have schematics later than 1999 so I can't say for sure but I believe your car's window motor circuit utilizes the same conductors for both up and down movement of the window, the switch merely reverses the polarity to reverse the motor. If it goes down but not up, you need to verify the switch is operating properly, and then get into the door and verify the connects to the motor. Use a test light at the motor connected so that you are testing both power and ground.
