Cadillac Repair: 2003 Deville Heated Seat, amp circuit, panel switches

Question
The drivers heated seat doesn't work.  The light on the switch comes on and neither the bottom nor the back heats.  The fuse shows power on both sides of the fuse (using a light).  I can hear and feel the relay under the seat click when pushing the button.  Not sure, but it seems like a fast double click when the button is pushed.  The car has 28,000 miles.  Thanks, Ray

Answer
Ray,
You've effectively tested the control circuit side of the system. Don't stop there, now test the rest of it. Check the relay. As you may or may not know, a relay is basically just an electronic switch. It incorporates a low amp circuit (the control circuit), and a high amp circuit (the load circuit). They are designed to allow you to control a high amp circuit with a low amp one. They allow nice, small control panel switches to operate larger, high amp components. You've verified that the control circuit is working, so now you just need to check out the load circuit side. Verify that circuit has power and is switching on and off when the relay clicks. If it does, move on to the heater pad itself. Verify it's getting power when the relay clicks and also has a good ground. That's pretty much it. Simple circuit really.
