Cadillac Repair: Car stalling after warm up, cadillac eldorado, mechanical knowledge

Question
1983 Cadillac Eldorado stalls when accelerating at a light when engine is warm. Sometimes after it stalls it takes a minute for it to turn over, but if you let the engine cool it starts up and drives fine until engine get warm again.

Answer
Tommy,
I'm going to assume that your car has a HT4100 and not a diesel. If I'm wrong, let me know and disregard what I'm going to suggest here concerning trouble-shooting the gas engine.
Odd that you say it stalls upon acceleration from a light rather than stalls on deceleration to a light or while waiting at the light in drive at idle.
First thing to check with most of this era Cadillac ESPECIALLY the DFI cars, would be engine base timing and min-air setting. These settings are basic settings that control not only how the engine will run but how the ECM "thinks" the engine is running. At this point I have to tell you that further diagnostics will require a decent mechanical knowledge and some tools and a good DVOM.
So let me know if you want to continue on and I'll walk you through it. Otherwise, just have your mechanic check the items I mentioned.
