Cadillac Repair: 1995 Deville, blown head gaskets, coolant leak


Question
I have a 1995 cadillac deville and  it keep telling me my engine coolant is hot....so i stop and check under the hood  and there was a hoes in the back of the engine that was spitting coolant out and white smoke...even when it on its spitting coolant out ,so what do i need to do...

If you have an engine temp warning, there's a problem. A minor coolant leak won't cause an over-heat unless the coolant is allowed to get fairly low. A major leak will cause an over-heat rather quickly though. First, repair the leak, then fill the cooling system to the "proper" level with the "proper" coolant, and then see if you still get an engine temp warning. Unfortunately, the engine in your car is NOT very tolerant of over-heats. Tends to cause major problems such as blown head gaskets etc.
If the engine runs fine after repairing your leak, count your blessings and keep an eye on it in the future.
