Cadillac Repair: 1997 Fleetwood Brougham, fleetwood brougham, pickup coil

Question
After driving and turning off the engine upon trying to restart the engine doesn't want to turn over.  After it cools down long enough it will start.  The battey is new and I have no problem starting when cold.  Any ideas?

When you turn the key to start the engine, is the engine physically turning over ?. If it is, check for spark to the spark plugs and your fuel pressure.

If no spark, Most likely a faulty PICKUP COIL in the distributor.

Do you have any check engine light CODES ?.
