QUESTION: I am just trying to figure out when i would be able to afford to get it fix. i was just looking for an estimate, because i have no knowledge of repair costs.

Answer
If you are referring to the 2 wire contacts that are within the ignition lock in the key cylinder in the steering column for your ignition key that has the little CHIP on the key for your anti-theft PASS-KEY device, You would need to disassemble the steering column to replace the ignition lock cylinder . You would be looking at approx $300-$400.

Is this what you mean ?.
