Nissan Repair: 1998 Nissan Rotor Std Replacement, cv driveshaft, rotor shaft

Question
I have a 1998 Nissan Altima with a broken stud on the passenger side front rotor.  I have the brake calliper off and the center nut on the rotor off.  I used a claw puller to try and remove the rotor.  The puller pushed the spine back through the rotor, stopping with a small amount of the spline threads still protuding from the rotor shaft.  It will go no further.

How do I get the rotor off so I can replace the broken stud??

Answer
Bill,

The torque member has to come off to get the rotor to come off.  The CV driveshaft does not have to come off.  Pull it back through and put the nut and retainer/cotter pin back in place after you torque it.  The caliper is what bolts to the torque member.  Behind the rotor there are two bolts that hold the torque member on and once this is removed the rotor will come off.  Now that the rotor is off you can push the broken stud out the back side of the wheel bearing assembly and then pull the new one through.  If you need more please email me back.  These are strange since most of us are used to working on rear drive cars.
