Cadillac Repair: P094 Cadillac sts 1994, david answer, cadillac sts

Question
QUESTION: I have a 1994 Cadillac sts with P094 code. I have 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears but when it is time to shift into overdrive (45 mph)the car goes into limp mode. I have just replaced the A and B solenoids and I still have the same problem. Do you know of any known problems that can cause this situation.

Thanks,
David

ANSWER: Did you CLEAR the code from the computer ?.

Did you drive the car to see if the code returned as HISTORY or CURRENT ?.

If NOT, Do so.

QUESTION: I cleared the codes and took the car for a test drive. I have 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears. At 45 mph it went into limp mode. I pulled over and checked for codes. I have P036, P094 and S072 as current codes, No history codes displayed. I restarted the car and drove home in 3rd instead of Drive so it would not go into limp mode. Reaching speeds well over 45 mph. At home the codes read P036 current, S072 current and P094 history.

I did not mention before that I have replaced the TPS and PCM just prior to the A and B solenoid kit. The car was having the same limp mode problem with the old PCM.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Answer
P036 = EGR pintle out of range.

S072 = Left Rear accelerator fault.

P094 = shift "A" solenoid problem.

You need to CLEAR the P094 code from the computer via the climate control panel.
