Cadillac Repair: 2000 Cadillac Escalade-wont start, starter relay, vtd

Question
Hello, I have a 2000 Cadillac Escalade 5.7 350. Intermitently, it won't start. You can hear fuel pump run, but I believe the security system is enabling the fuel. Took to Cadillace dealership, they replaced ignition switch. This didn't fix it. Had a buddy hook up diagnostics, it displayed a code about the VTD module not sending, or sending the wrong password to PCM or BCM, which enables the fuel.  Should I replace the VTD module? Have you ever heard of this before? Thanks for any help, Frustrated.

Answer
I retired prior to 2000 and did you try a DIFFERENT key after waiting 3 minutes from trying to use the first one.

You could have a problem with the:

Ignition lock cylinder which has a set of electrical contacts that touches the upper and lower part of the ignition key to read the OHMS that built within the key and sends this ohms reading to the VTD module which is coded to match the ohms of the key to enable the starter relay to spin the starter and provide a constant signal to the computer to constantly run the fuel pump.

Fault could be:

Key.
Key contacts within ignition lock cylinder.
VTD module.
Starter relay.
