Cadillac Repair: Service Fuel System 96 Sedan Devile(Northstar), auto help, auto button

Hello Auto help
I'm getting a code P00231 on my 96 sedan deville(NS)and my display keeping flashing Service fuel System, I check the fuse (ok)and I replaced the fuse relay and installed a new fuel pump to no avail. I have about 4 gal of gas in the auto and I can hear the pump run for about 2 sec. when I turn the IGN. on and off. Any help would be appreciated...

OK, Lets try CLEARING (erasing) the code from the computer.

1. Redisplay the code P00231 and after the code displays you will see PCM?

2. Push and release the HI (^) button and you will see PCM CODES?

3. Keep pushing and releasing the LO (v) button until you see PCM CLEAR CODES?

4. Push and release the HI (^) button and you will see PCM CODES CLEAR. Wait 3 seconds and push and release the AUTO button and turn OFF the ignition key.

Drive the car and or start the car and see if the service fuel system comes back ON.
