Cadillac Repair: 96 cadillac deville not running after adding freon, cadillac deville, freon

Ok, My parents have a 96 cadillac deville that they were having serviced by my grandpa. He has worked on cadillacs all his life, but im sure hasnt been trained on anything 1990 and above. So he was able to fix the few error codes it was having . Then my dad asked him to check the a/c because it hasn't been working properly latly. so he checks the levels and adds some freon. I think my dad said he added 100 pounds if that sounds right. Maybe not but he did add freon. Now when my dad when to start the car it sputters and dies every time. Now i assume the car was running fine before they messed with the a/c. What do you reccomend they try? I am the one asking the question because they are trying to get it fixed to come upstate and see my daughter and wont be able to until this is fixed. Thank you so much for your valuable time.

He most likely added 1 lb.

Will the car start if the AC is turned OFF ?.

Is he positive he put the freon in the correct place (fitting) ?.

Have him try pouring a little bit of gas in the air intake in the center of the engine and see if the car will try and run.

I had several people put freon in the gas line pressure fitting.
