Cadillac Repair: idle speed, northstar engine, idle speed control

Question
How is the idle speed adjusted in a 94 cad seville northstar engine the motor runs about 1000rpms and seems to run at a higher speed when driving and then letting off the gas. In other words it doesnt seem to back down from say 50 or 60 very fast. Thanks.

The idle speed  is electronically controlled by the IDLE SPEED CONTROL MOTOR.

You will most likely have to replace the IDLE SPEED CONTROL MOTOR Of which I can e-mail you pictures and directives if you are fairly mechanically inclined and would like to do the work yourself.
