Cadillac Repair: 1999 rear suspension problems, air ride suspension, air shocks

Question
i have a 1999 Cadillac deville that sags in the back when there is no weight in the back seat or trunk and when some one sits in the back or i put something in the truck it drops down very low and some times hits speed bumps i had the car checked at a shop that does suspension and the guy said that the shocks were fine because he felt them and said they were under pressure he said it might be a problem with the compressor that it might not have enough power to lift the car to the correct ride height but this shop or none around where i live in Miami, fl know how to work on the air shocks i was looking online and found a conversion kit for the rear suspension to turn it from the electronic air ride suspension into a passive system and i overrides the sensor have you heard of this and/or would you recommend it ? i would appreciate impute that you have. thank allot.

Answer
NO, I have NOT heard of this KIT and have never installed one so I do not know how well they work. I do NOT like to alter what the manufacturer of the vehicle designed for the vehicle.

Your problem is most likely the HEIGHT SENSOR which is located under the vehicle above the rear axle, and looks like a 4" square black plastic box with a round wiring harness attached to it and a small approx 4" metal steel rod that connects to the suspension components. I can provide PICTURES and directives to test and or replace the height sensor and or the air pump whichever the directives lead you to. E-mail me at: onlineautohelp@msn.com
