Cadillac Repair: MAP sensor, cadilac eldorado, auto part stores

Question
Tom,
I have a 1993 Cadilac Eldorado with 4.6 liter Northstar motor in it. Problem is that the MAP sensor keeps going bad every month or two. I even replaced it with a Cadilac dealership part thinking the auto part stores might be less quality. Any ideas on what might be causing the premature failures? Tom

Answer
You may have a loose electrical wire at the MAP sensor or you have a vacuum leak in one of the vacuum lines near the MAP sensor.

Did you perform the diagnostics to be sure that it is a fault of the MAP sensor and are you CLEARING (erasing) the MAP code from the computer AFTER you replace the MAP sensor ?.
