Cadillac Repair: 2000 eldorodo northstar v8, northstar v8, gas tank

the car just dies while im driving and it has done that for about a year and now it only drives about 5mins then dies and u have to wait about an hour before you can start it again it has 70,000 miles on it do u think it could be the fuel pump?

When the fault occurs, Listen very carefully at the gas tank as you turn the ignition key to the ON position ONLY. Do NOT try and start the engine. When you turn the key to the ON position, You should be able to hear the fuel pump run for 2 seconds and then STOP. Does it. Also check your fuel pressure at this time also.

Are you getting spark to the spark plugs when this happens as you try and start the engine ?.
