I have a air conditioner that works intermittenly. Sometimes it works fine, sometimes it blows ambient air, and sometimes it blows air much warmer than ambient. The air conditioner worked fine when purchased. I took it to a quick chage oil shop soon after purchase, and the managed to leave the transmission fluid dipstick unlodged. It now sometimes shifts somewhat roughly. It has had a pound of refigerant added, and is currently full, but the problem persists. I have had a Cadillac dealership look at it, but they could not find a problem.

You need a set of AC gages, You need to remove all the old freon, Replace the orifice tube, Evacuate all the air from the system using a vacuum pump, Charge system with correct amount of freon FIRST. Then once we know that this is correct, See what the AC does and let me know.
