Cadillac Repair: 1990 Cadillas Seville - Engine cooling fans, engine cooling fans, cadillas

Question
The cooling fans only turn on when I set the internal temeperture setting to "auto".  In the off position or the econ. setting the fans stop and the engine will heat to 220 degrees and the fans will not turn on.  I have replaced the heat sensor next to the water hose on the engine block (they told me there was only one which controls all temperture sensitive devices on the car) and also checked the three relays in the box on the fire wall, all test good.  I replaced the fuse in the box but still no luck with the fans.  What am I missing??

Answer
Let the engine temp get up to 230 or 240 and see if the fans come on.

If NOT, The cause is most likely the relays and I can e-mail you PICTURES and test procedures for testing the relays as they work in combination with each other rather than as seperate units. E-mail me at: onlineautohelp@msn.com
