Thank you very much!

Answer
Hi Laura,

Knowing what the codes mean really isn't going to be a big help because the E052 means the engine control module/ECM lost battery voltage or the battery was disconnected/went dead and the code wasn't cleared after power was restored. The B552 is the same thing except it pertains to the body control module/BCM.

The place to begin would be to turn on the headlamps and see if they come on full bright or are they dim. If dim then charging the battery might help. If they are bright then try starting the engine in neutral. Maybe the switch is out of adjustment.

If none of those help then maybe the starter or starter solenoid is defective. If you use a testlight or voltmeter on the small wire terminal at the starter solinoid and it lights or shows battery voltage when the key is turned then th estarter and solinoid need to be replaced. The other possibility is maybe the passkey system is keeping the engine from turning over. Next time you turn the key does the climate control display a message like wait 4 minutes before starting? If so then the key might be dirty...try your other key or clean the pellet on the key with some peroxide or rubbing alcohol. The small wire coming from the ignition lock cylinder could be broken in half and you will need to replace the lock cylinder or install a resistor in the wires at the bottom of the steering column that come from the lock cylinder.

Let me know if you need anymore help. Otherwise you will probably need to have the car towed to your mechanic for repairs. Bill
