Cadillac Repair: check engine light, check engine soon light, cadilac

i have a 1995 cadilac deville 4.9 L v8.  check engine soon light has been on and off since purchasing car having no trouble with car runs excellent. not using alot of gas nothing any suggestions?

Check for computer codes:

1. Ignition ON.

2. Simultaneously push and hold the OFF and WARMER (^) buttons for 3 seconds and release them.

3. LETTER/NUMBER combiations will appaer along with either HISTORY or CURRENT on the screen.

4. Turn ignition OFF.
