QUESTION: when i enter diagnostic service mode on my seville it reads the following , code po 30 history, code po 98 history, no icp codes, no sir codes, no acp codes, pcm? exactly. ill havefuel pressure checked.
AnswerP030 = Idle Speed Control (ISC) motor RPM's out of range.
P098 = High RPM'S when shifting from Park to neutral and from drive to reverse shift under ISC operation.
You need to CLEAR these 2 codes from the computer and see if they return as HISTORY or CURRENT codes.
To CLEAR the P codes:
1. Ignition ON. Engine OFF.
2. Simultaneously push and hold the OFF and WARMER buttons for 3 seconds and release them.
3. When you see the PCM?, Push and release the HI button and you will see PCM DATA? keep pushing and releasing the LO button until you see PCM CLEAR CODES.
4. Push and release the HI button and you will see PCM CODES CLEAR and wait 3 seconds and then push and release the AUTO button and turn OFF the ignition. Drive the car and see if any codes return.
Possible faults are:
ISC motor.
TPS sensor.
Exhaust restriction of the catalytic converter.
Low fuel pressure.
