Answer
Hi Chauncey,

The radios in all the higher end vehicles are getting more complicated. For example it used to be that there was a chime or dinger that sounded when the key was in the ignition and the door was open. Now that function has been taken over by the radio in that the radio speakers are where the sound comes out of because a body control module was told the door was open and sent the signal to the radio to make that sound.

So...since you know that after the stereo was installed and then the keyless entry isn't working as it should you or the place that installed the stereo need to get out a wireing diagram of the radio circuits and the new stereo diagram and see what wire(s) got crossed. It could be that the new stereo isn't compatable or that you or the installer will need to rewire it differantly to allow both to work as they should. If not then I would be reinstalling the original radio.

There is one other possability in that the battery was disconnected and when reconnected there are some settings that will need to be adjusted with a GM factory scan tool to allow both the new stereo and keyless entry to work together. Goodluck, Bill
