Cadillac Repair: 1997 Cad, Gear shift/selector, shift indicator, auto transmission

Question
I have a 1997 Cad/sedan de ville, Auto Transmission, car runs great, however the shifter on the stearing column is very tight as if the cable needs lube. No check engine lights or anything on, all systems run perfect. Is there a way to make the shifting lever move easier?

Answer
Either the cable is binding up internally or the shift indicator on top of the transmission just below the master cylinder is binding. Maybe a little lubricant on the exposed cable at the top of the trans may help or replacing the cable may be necessary.
