Cadillac Repair: Rear Air Struts, air leaks, air struts

1993 DeVille. About 1 min. after shuting off the engine the suspenion air pump comes on, runs for a few min, then shuts off. In about another min. it comes on again,runs about 2 min, then shuts off. This stops after a few cycles. If there was an air leak would'nt the pump keep trying to inflate the strut until the battery is dead? Any test I can perform? Any repair kits available? Where is the relay? Thanks

If the air leak is extremly small this would cause the pump to run at intervals.

The most common fault is a failure of the HEIGHT SENSOR located under the car above the rear suspension that has a metal arm that attaches to the suspension and the height sensor is attached to the vehicles body and has a multi-wired round electrical plug attached to it.

I would first check ALL your air lines for air leaks.
