Cadillac Repair: 1992 Seville blower wont turn off, aluminum piece, blower fan

Hi Tom,

I have a 1992 Seville. The blower fan will not turn off when I close the ignition thus draining the battery. All functions of the climate control work except the 'OFF' function. Could this be a relay?

Answer
In 90% of all cases such as this the fault is a failure within the POWER MODULE which is located above the blower motor about 6" to your left towards the passengers side on top of the big black plastic housing that the blower motor goes into.

It has 2 large electrical connections and is held in by 3 7mm screws  and when you remove it you will see a large finned aluminum piece attached to the bottom of the module.
